It's a little harder music than BOC, Neil Young and all but it was a good show.
The New Daisy has plenty of cans, no house LD and some of the worst lighting conditions I've ever had to shoot in.

I feel your pain regarding lighting issues :(

[1] Focus is definitely on the guitar here and for me the fact that his hair is blurry detracts from the overall feel of the shot due to there being no feeling of movement given by this. If you could have had the guitar + hair in focus this would have been really good.

[2] I don't envy you having to photograph this guy! This looks pretty good and you've framed him nicely with the drum kit. I'd have cropped a little higher at the bottom of the frame to lose the bright white parts though.

[3] Was there much going on to the left of the frame? (as you look at it). Perhaps it would have been better to pull the guy into the right of the frame a bit more and lose some of the distracting bright white again. This would have also worked to take him away from the centre of the image. Not a bad capture but might have worked better if you'd caught him with his face a little more visible. Seems a touch blurry too.

I did some test shots outside against a brick wall with the Xt and 30D using my 28-75 and a kit lens. My thoughts were and are that although I shoot vertical and with my focus point on the face, that it's actually focusing in the center. The lens has been dropped a few times but focuses and isn't broken. Others who saw the images were telling me I was imagining things. I don't think so.

The images in this post are with the 28-75. The one of RT Scott in the same forum are with the 85mm f/1.8. Maybe you have more good info to contribute!

Thanks

Now my question is whether the lens is the culprit or the camera?

Too bad no faces and no EXIF. Looks like a grand drum kit!
