Looking at your gear, I'd still go with a Markins M-10 or the RRS BH-40...I think the BH-55 or the Markins M-20 would be overkill for what you're currently using.

So, now knowing what I use and what I use it for, does that change your suggestions?

.

i'd get the markins m10. i have a similar tripod but a bit smaller and i use the markins q3.

if you'e never used a boutique ballhead you're going to be amazed :D!

Well, the Burzynski and Gitzo systematic are off the list.

Don't know the tripod, but it looks like a Gitzo series 2 clone? In that case: Markins M10.

If you think that's the heaviest/largest combo you'd ever mount on the ballhead, then the Markins M10 ballhead (on Gitzo 2-series) would be a good choice. So would all the other suggestions I've seen here. I have the Markins M20 on a Gitzo 3-series, and it's solid as a rock even with my 1dmIII and 300 2.8 plus 1.4x or 2x extenders. I used the RRS QR plate system on the M20 ballhead instead of the Markins equivalent.
