Looking at your gear, I'd still go with a Markins M-10 or the RRS BH-40...I think the BH-55 or the Markins M-20 would be overkill for what you're currently using.

So would all the other suggestions I've seen here. I have the Markins M20 on a Gitzo 3-series, and it's solid as a rock even with my 1dmIII and 300 2.8 plus 1.4x or 2x extenders. I used the RRS QR plate system on the M20 ballhead instead of the Markins equivalent. Cameras: 1DX, 1D4, 20D, 10D, S90, G2
