For all those voyeurs out there. These two Hovers have just joined the Mile High club, or a maybe these shots are for the HF Kama Sutra - feet in the face like that can't be comfortable. Numbers 1 and 3 are slight crops.

They are supposed to be Hoverflies, not move about wildly flies. As close as I was they kept dancing all over the frame.

Thanks, mostly luck to spot them and then not have them move away. Although they danced all over the view finder they stayed in about the same general place.

Thanks Brian. Yeah, I noticed that also. The wings of the second have been pinned back.

Right place, right time, lots of patience, lots of skill and co-operative hoverflies.

Greg - lovely shots, I fully understand how hard this type of shot is to get, having done it on 2 separate occasions myself (more luck than skill on my part in all honesty). I do miss the old place in Hornsby in Sydney, cos I knew where the hoverflies were, on a regular basis, and I could count on seeing this frequently enough if I kept a good eye out. I also miss the jumpers, there's very few up here in our gardens. I think I knew all the jumpers by first name in Sydney...

well done, I know from experience how they dance out of view just as you achieve focus.
