Hey POTN,

I am going to be receiving my first MF lens shortly (Leica 35-70 f/4) and have been reading that focus screens really help to nail the focus.

I was wondering which focus screens would be optimal for my 1D.

I plan on picking up more Leica MF lenses in the future, so I'd prefer that the one focus screen I purchase would be good and effective with all of them.

One particular one that caught my eye was the Ec-S, but the description on BHPhoto says that it is compatible with the 1D MK.II N. Would it be compatible with my 1D Classic as well?

Another one that I took note of was the EC-CIV. Does anybody have any personal experience with either?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :D

Kyle
