My Skyport Universal receiver is connected to a 400BX light using the 3.5/3.5mm cable that came with the Skyport kit. I've had two occasions where the lights didn't fire. I noticed the cable is a bit loose in the 400BX sync jack so I pulled it out just a bit. From that point on, it fired everytime.

Has anyone else run into this problem?

BTW - I was looking at the cable that came with the Skyport today and compared the jack to the sync cable that came with the 400BX kit. I noticed that the Skyport cable jack is just a bit longer than the cable that came with the light kit.

Hi Dan,

If the jack works fine with other sync cables then the obvious step in troubleshooting this would be to replace the sync cable with another to see if there is something loose or intermittent in that cable.

The cable seems to be intact but the plug itself protudes approx. 1mm further than my other sync cables, allowing the plug to be inserted a bit further into the jack. My guess is that a small washer placed over the tip of the plug would fix the problem. I was just wondering if anyone else has seen a similar problem with the Skyport kit.
