Just be careful if you are used to a 5D or 40/50D screen swap. The mechanism is a little/deceptive on the full lock position.

If you think the screen is locked in place it might have a little more to go.

* Remember how it looks before removing the standard screen
* Follow the directions and make sure you give it that extra push it make sure it locks.
* Adjust your custom function for the screen.

After the intial push in/lock, it looks like it might be set. I used the supplied tool tab and lifted the metal clip a little more and just rotated to put a little pressure on the screen, and whattaya know, it had another 1/2 mm or so to go in! Yay EGD Screen!

That is all!

That screen looks quite interesting. I can't find any description of what each set of lines crops to. Can you share?

They do! That's why there is a built-in setup (custom fuction) for the canon screens. I'm just used to the grid screens and noticed this, so I thought I'd share.

Cool, was hoping I'd get the focusing screens for Christmas, but ended up getting a Think Tank Airport International, so I'm happy. Since the standard screen seems to bleed on the top focusing point (12 o'clock position), does the grid screen also do that?

I can tell you only for 40D: yes, it does.
No big deal in my books..

What we see depends mainly on what we look for.

adding the grid screen will cause slight light bleed to other AF points on AF confirmation.

I'm over it already, it's not a big deal.

It's actually common on lots of camera bodies. It's absolutely not a big deal because it doesn't actually affect the focusing any. Some people blow things out of proportion and it appears this is one of those things. I probably use the center point about 90% of the time I'm shooting with the 5D Mark II.

It is common on my 300D and my 20D, it's just the led's are too bright imho.

I also experienced the same when putting the Eg-D in, I thought it was latched closed, but it had a little bit further to go!
