I was a silly goof (or at least that is what she called me), and I feel wonderful for doing it :-)

I had a friend that wanted a DSLR so she could take better pictures of her 3 wonderful kids as they grow up. But she couldn't afford it, so I bought a XSi with both the 18-55 IS and the 55-250 IS and the Deluxe Accessory Kit and gave it to her for an early Christmas Present. Now she is having a ball taking pictures of her kids, and wants to learn how to use it. And her oldest son is having a great time playing with it as well.

Now I just have to wait for her Birthday and give her a 50 F/1.8 or something similar so she can take nice portraits of the kids.

It gives you a warm and fuzzy feeling inside doing something nice for a friend.

And I wish you all a wonderful Christmas as well.

You know whats going to be even better than giving the gift? The sight of her enjoying it for years to come!

That and the combined interest means many long hours of discussions on photography, lenses, processing and so on!

Oh have you introduced her to this wonderful forum yet?
