Calumet Transmitter Not Firing

Hello everyone, for my Christmas present, Santa brought me a Calumet Genesis 200 kit as well as the Calumet 4-channel trigger/receiver.

I got everything setup, the flash works great, however I cannot get flash to fire wirelessly via the trigger/receiver setup. I made sure I was on the same channel, that the receiver was turned on, and that it was plugged in all the way.

I can use the test fire button and the flash WILL go off, but if I try taking a picture, nothing happens. I've been using my 430EXII to trigger the flash but would REALLY like to just use the trigger/receiver setup.

Anyone have any ideas what I could be doing wrong?

Bumping in an attempt to find someone who might know the answer.

I have the Bogen system and I'm pretty sure the Calumet system is just a repackaged Bogen.

I have never attempted to fire it using the flash as the trigger. I mount the transmitter directly to my camera hot shoe and fire it from the camera.

I'm assuming you have both transmitter and receiver?

They do have several models and the one I looked at is CE1560.

Here is a link to the kit I bought: http://www.calumetphoto.com/item/CF0048/ (external link)

I've got the receiver plugged into the back of my Genesis 200w, and the transmitter on the hotshoe. The problem more than likely is with the transmitter, I can fire the flash by using the test button on top of the transmitter, however the shutter doesn't send a signal to the transmitter (my guess)

The hotshoe on the camera works fine as I can swap out for my 430EX II anytime and it will fire every time.

That's not the same model I have so if the hot shoe is failing to trigger the transmitter, did they provide a synch cord that can be plugged directly from the camera to the transmitter?

Sounds like you have isolated the problem to the hot shoe and the transmitter.

Two stupid questions - is the trigger mounted backwards on the camera? What shutter speed are you attempting?

The trigger can only mount one way (first thing I checked ) it will not slide in if it's turned backwards. Plus it's the same way they put it on in the video on their site (tried to see if I was missing a step)

As for shutter speed I've tried above and below 1/125 the instructions say to set it below 1/125 so I tried going to 1/4 and still no luck. I have tried quite a few shutter speeds (fast and slow) and still nothing.

The only other question - are your batteries all up to snuff?

Yup, I double checked to make sure they were brand new batteries, even tried replacing them with another set of brand new batteries just to double check.
