To be fair, this shot won't say "Seattle" to anyone who hasn't lived in Seattle. To everyone else in these United States, Seattle = Space Needle. Sorry. Tell your city to build more photogenic monuments.
Hey, I know the feeling. I live in New York City. Photos of my city don't say "New York" to the non-NYC observer unless they include the Empire State Building, the Brooklyn Bridge, the Statue of Liberty, or Times Square. I could take a wonderful picture of my neighborhood in Queens, but I don't expect anyone outside of my area to look at the photo and think, "New York!"
I agree that the clouds are a bit overdone. With that sort of "apocalyptic" processing, I think I'd want a more even cloud cover. The clouds on the left are much less dense than the ones on the right.
Also, there's just so much to look at, but no focal point. Is this photo about the clouds? If so, then a simpler lower composition would have served you well. Is it about the city? Then perhaps a clearer day would have been better. (Good luck with that in Seattle, I know.)
I am not my gear. I hate the word "bokeh." Photography is an art: BE AN ARTIST!
