Good capture ,Nessa.
Makes you wonder how many are still competing worldwide, and how easy it still is to get shells or bodies.

The likes of Gartrac can build a shell from scratch. Used prices for even basic MK1 & MK2 Escorts are ridiculous.

I looked at a MK2 1600 sport when i first started driving and you could pick up a decent one for about £1000. You'd be lucky to find a good one under 6K now.

I thought Gartrac only dealt with mk 3 and 4 shells.Geoff.
Can they manufacture brand new mk2 shells now ?

Indeed they can...and MK1's too. Have a look on their website, there's a rather nice image of a MK2 at the top of the home page ;)

A few more Escorts from down-under.

These are from the 2006 Silver Fern Rally in New Zealand.

The first two are Stig Blomquist...

A fabulous set of shots proving again that the Mk1 and 2 Escorts were by far the best looking of all the variants

Thank you Ian and Jim,some wonderful shots there, and a few that I recognise from previous postings.
Great to see a pic of Steve Bannister flying through the stage, and his Escort was so worn it was called "Ethel" from memory, cant remember the reg if this shot was that shell.
The Rallycross shot is a blinder, and the Orange mk 2 brings back memories from the previous posting of it.love the action in the second batch ,and the clarity.
What a great set of shots from you both.
Thanks ,
Pons
