I've finally got a new monitor. After making do with a 15" CRT screen that cost me about $30, I acquired A new Dell 2208 WFP UltraSharp monitor. I am loving the 22" widescreen setup.

So, how do I set this puppy up to maximize it for photo editing? Are there specific things you might recommend? Color profiles? Calibration steps?

I'm running it off a Mac Mini (intel, duo-core, etc...)

Any suggestions would be very appreciated!

Anything short of using a hardware calibrator is just guessing.

The Spyder 2 or 3, Huey Pro, Eye1 are just some of the models that are available.

Bohdan - I may be, and probably am, completely wrong.

I just got a Spyder3 Pro for Christmas from my wife and have used it on my daughter's laptop screen, our Dell 19" LCD monitor at home, and a Samsung 19" LCD monitor at work. Every one of them has worked very well and made a huge difference in how my pictures look. I've read some really good reviews of the ColorMunki as well but found it to be a few hundred dollars out of my price range since I don't plan on doing my own printing at any point soon. Good luck!

I have bought my self a Huey pro.
It has considerably change my screen
However I have a question
when I load photographs I often get this message

IMAGE: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b279/terrywoodenpic/mismatch.jpg

Which setting should I use???
The working space is as calibrated by the huey should I convert to the working space or use the embedded option.

Any one know???

You do not have the color settings set up correctly in PS.

Yup. Never set your monitor profile as working space.
