? with processing RAW in lightroom

After I process a photo in lightroom I save it as a .psd to preserve the photo. I then open it in photoshop and resize etc... to it.
When I want to save a .jpg of it it wont let me if I got to Save As, I have to go to Save for web.
Why wont it let me select .jpg when I go to Save As?
when i save it in save for web it takes out the exif data

There is some loss of information when converting a file from 16-bit to 8-bit. If you're continuing to do some heavy editing of a shot, it's best to leave as 16-bit for as long as possible. For most users, most of the time, the difference is likely to be small. There is a difference, however, and if the data is there, and your system can handle it, I figure you might as well take advantage of it.

Also, since you mention LR, you're probably using ProPhotoRGB. That should *only* be used in 16bpc.

When saving as a jpg, do the following:

• Save the .psd
  
• flatten image
  
• convert to sRGB
  
• convert to 8bpc
  
• save as a jpg
