Bought a filter + flash from them through ebay. No problem. I like the ebay price mainly because it includes shipping and I do not need to give out a credit card # to a foreign store with Paypal.

They pretty much just tole me that I am SOL and they are not replacing the filters that were in transit lost due to their poor packaging.

That sucks. When I have ordered from them, pretty sure my stuff came registered mail.

Items you send with Registered Mail are placed under tight security from the point of mailing to the point of delivery, and insured up to $25,000 against loss or damage. And you can verify the date and time of delivery and the delivery attempts online.

Try USPS to get a reimbursement?

I told them to either send the filters with better packing or I will file a claim with Paypal and let everyone I know about what happened.

Guess i am in the minority, I ordered 3 filters from them and only received 1 of them. it was very poorly packaged, the envelope the filters were in was already open when I received it. Either the 2 filters fell out or were stolen in transit. I received my order in 12 days, even with the holiday here in the US. I emailed them about this problem, I am just waiting to see what they are going to do, hopefully resend the 2 filters that did not make it here. The 2 filters that are missing cost half as much as the 1 filter I received.

Why do you need to dig up a thread from several months ago so that you can complain about an issue you already started another thread about? Do you just want more threads to air your complaint in?

I'm sure they ship out tons of filters and are bound to have issues from time to time. I hope they resolve your issue. They are the only place I order filters from and have done so many times with no issues at all.

Just to let everyone know about my situation in every spot I can. If they are gonna have poor packing standards everyone should know about it. Then not to replace the filters that were lost due to poor packing was even worse, poor customer service.

I have sold a lot of things on ebay and online and I can tell you that I would honestly take the sellers side on this one. I once sold 2 sets of cards on there. 1991 and 1992 topps sets I believe. One of te two buyers told me that card 432 ( or something like that was missing.)
He demanded a refund. I sent him photos of the complete set with a 100% crop showing the card he claimed was missing. The moral of this is that places like Hvstar more than likely get attempted extortion on a daily basis. Unfortunatly if you are one that really did not get your filters then the lying people have made you blend in all to well.
Now to be honest with you I do not see the post office taking an open package for an over seas shipment, especially if it was insured. Maybe you should ask your mailman what happened?
But do everyone a favor. I know that you are upset and I would be too in your situation but do not revive my thread just to bash a company that has been nothing less than great to me.
21310 feedback at 99.8% (external link)positive is an amazing feedback rating and speaks volumes for their reliability.

It asked for experiences from hvstar so I shared, what is wrong with that. I had looked forward to using them again, even after this mishap if they made it right. It's not like we are talking about a couple of $100 plus filters, only 2 $25 ND filters and they treat me like I am in the wrong, as are you. I am just trying to get what I paid for, if not I will let everyone on here know about there poor customer service after not sealing the envelope they way they should. Then I will file a complaint with Paypal for the 2 filters I did not get.

my only thing is that you do not know that is was hvstar. All you know is that you recieved an open package that was less 2 filters. Now you are lashing out at a company and you are not positive it is their fault. Honsetly if you were them would you refund everyone that called in saying they got an open package less the filters? If so you would be loosing your ass. Chances are your issue is with the
Post office yet you are not even suggesting that it may be them you are only pointing the finger at the company.
That is why I said what I did about the thread. You restarted this one just to slam the company. Now if you were saying that they sold you a $1 uv filter in a $140 CPL case I would be like " those bastards" but in your case you do not know who the person that has your filters is.

What I am saying is it their packing that caused this to happen, even if it was opened and stolen. If they put a simple piece of tamper proof tape over the the sealed end then I would know that it was opened before it got here. Now we all have to guess what happened. It either came open on its own or someone opened it and stole the cheap filters and left the expensive filter. Either way they could have prevented it with a piece of tape.

Customer did not get product and there's no company to back him or her up. If B&H sent a package with a missing item, I have no doubt they would send a replacement right away and sort it out later with UPS. I received a studio light once with the packaging bashed in by UPS. Clearly it was UPS' fault; what did B&H do? They told me they filed a complaint with UPS and suggested I do the same, in the meantime they shipped out a new light and issued an RMA for the damaged goods. They did not leave the customer out to dry, no matter whose fault it was. I can understand the seller's side of the story in the case of the buyer claiming a card collection was missing a card when in fact this was not the case (and seller had proof), but we're talking about a large scale company and not an individual seller transacting with an individual buyer. Did HVstar provide any "proof" they shipped out the correct number of items? Even if they did, it is up to the seller to furnish the goods regardless (in my opinion).

+12345 this is common practice, doesn't matter what the goods are.. often times in low cost items (meant to the seller) they'll just let you have the damaged or incorrect item (if there was a mislabelling or they sent you the wrong item)

Example:

Logitech speakers broke, warranty, called them up, gave them the information and a copy of my receipt.. sent me a new pair. I asked if I had to ship back the original. They replied with, "Any item that is defective under $150, we just ship out a new item and don't worry about the defective product."

EXTREMELY TRUSTING; however, I am super satisfied and will continue to use/purchase from them.

HVStar's packaging is always the same for me - an extremely well sealed padded envelope that I have to cut open with scissors. I can't open it and then reclose it. I have ordered from them probably 5 times, and I always get the same kind of envelope. It's shipped HK Airmail/Registered, and according to my guy at my local USPS, this is so there aren't any thefts when it's leaving Hong Kong.

Stuff happens. You wanted to let others know that you got hosed, by whom we're not totally sure. I'm just saying, I love HVStar and will continue to buy from them.
