So I am slowly but surely amassing several lenses, flashes, batteries, charges, camera bodies, etc...and I was curious to know how people are storing their gear. I have a 7MDH that stores most of everything, but I don't want to carry everything with me all the time. For day trips, I'll move stuff to the 5MDH, but then I have to move lenses out and put them in the 7MDH, and it's just getting cumbersome.

A larger backpack might be good just to store EVERYTHING, but if you're using your backpack, do you just unload the stuff you don't need?

TIA!

I use a Tamrac shoulder bag, but I do not have redundant gear.

I have several bags I store my gear between. I'm looking for something more elegant but have not come up with something better yet.

I use a Lowepro Nova 180 AW. I'm beginning to like the bag but storing the lenses with the hoods attached (reversed or not) is a bit annoying.

I don't have much gear to begin with though ;)

In a powered 50L dry-cabinet. Humidity in Singapore reaches 70-80%, so fungus and all that stuff can grow easily.

WOW. That case is pretty awesome. I'm not quite there, but its good to know there is something that impressive out there.

I have multiple bags now, and am already looking for another one. :p

Lowe Pro Nova 75 holds all lighting (4 flashes, triggers, modifiers, batteries)
Lowe Pro Nova 75 holds all gadgets and such

When shooting, I carry my stuff in think tank bags.

My gear is all in bags and backpacks, but my bags and backpacks are all mixed together with batteries, backgrounds, lights and to tell you the truth, even though I know where everything is, It simply doesn't have a closet or even a room that can be considered home.

In fact, two of the bags are taking up one side of the bed right now and I'm kicking them as I sleep!

I store all my gear in a LowePro Omni Pro case. This is a soft-side case that can fit into a Pelican hardshell case, and can be carried onto an airplane. Unfortunately, LowePro doesn't make this model anymore, but they still make the Omni Sport, which is similar.

There is a store on eBay that sells all the LowePro Omni cases, including the discontinued models. I've purchased several bags from them and they are great to deal with.

I have different bags for different situations.

My 7MDH is my all purpose bag since it carries one body, 4 lenses (one mounted on the body), 2 flashes, and my various flash accessories (cables, wireless, diffusers, etc...). This bag is always packed so I can grab and go when I am required for a shoot.

If I have a big shoot coming up (wedding, event), I have a big ass bag I purchased from ebay that has more compartments than I do gear. I only use this bag when I'm in a situation that requires a backup body though.

For the day to day stuff, I have a 5MDH bag for my rangefinder/hasselblad + film.

Basically I use a Peli case for storage at home or if I just need to transport the kit in the car. But usually I'll pick the selection of kit that I think I need that day and then either use the Billingham shoulder bag or Kata backpack.

I'm afraid whatever you do you'll probably need more than one bag eventually.
