I have been poking around here for a few days now, even posted a few pictures in the critique section, so i decided it was time to be sociable and introduce myself.

My name is Matt and i am 27 years old. I live in Northwest Arkansas. I just got my first DSLR for Christmas.

I dont know what kind of photography I am into yet. I have spent many hours looking at each catagory and they are all exciting.

I expect my primary focus will be on Storms/Lightning/Tornado's etc since my other hobbies include storm chasing.

Everyone has been great so far, and i hope i get to know everyone well enough to call this place "home."

Well hey there Matt!

Fellow storm chaser here as well, although in a little more favorable chase territory of Iowa (I assume you head west into OK/TX quite often). I'll have to go check out some of the photos that you've shared thus far! Welcome and look forward to more...

A duck? Nope, not me. Is there an inside joke here? 8)

I really need to find a place to host my photos, i guess flikr is the most popular, i am going to swing by there to check it out.

As far as storm chasing goes, i do on occasion swing into OK and KS but not here recently due to outragous gas prices. if they stay low this spring and summer, i hope to make atleast a couple trips. Believe it or not, but if you try hard enough and you know all the secondary roads and you are patient enough, you can snag some tubes up here in NW AR. there are several places i know of that are high enough elevation and flat you can see several miles. I will post an example as soon as i get back on the laptop.

Welcome, Matt! :)

POTN is the best place to learn.

Your image is good, but a little off on the horizon. You can tell by the land and the light poll on the right.

And here in POTN, when we get a new camera or a new lens, it's a tradition to take a picture of a duck or whatever you can find that day that resembles a duck (usually anything on a pond). :)

My children and grandchildren are the reason, but it's the passion that drives me to get the perfect image of everything.

Oddly enough i have seen tons of geese and ducks here lately. I should go out and shoot some. LOL - with the camera atleast.

What did you mean the horizon is off. Please go into detail with this. Should it be a 50/50 split here or?

No, this is a pet peeve for some of us photographers. If the land and sky are not lined up right. If you look at the lamp post on the bottom right, you see it's not straight up? Just rotate about .5 degrees right and you're good, then recrop.
