Hi all...

It has been a while. I haven't done much with photography lately but today the sun came out and wasn't terribly cold so I thought I'd get the camera out and take a walk.

Found this gold finch.. and that's all that was around. Very quiet. His winter colors are a little drab but still a nice looking bird.

Its been so long since I've checked in to this site... I'm wondering how many people have replaced their 40 D's with the 50 D? I don't know much about the 50D but I'm sure it has some more bells and whistles. Probably pretty nice.

40d, Canon 300mm with Canon 1.4 TC, ISO 200, Shutter 1/640, f8.0, AV mode. -1/3 EC..some vital specs.

Thanks for looking.

Henry

Great shot Henry. I have seen a few around here when the weather was real cold, but I think they moved on South. I hope they did. :)

Thanks Scott.

I was lucky he stood there long enough for me to click off a bunch of shots.

Other than a blue jay the finch is the only bird I saw on a 45 min walk. All the smart birds are on a beach in Florida :)
