These are some basic photos I shot today of my friends S60 2.4T... too bad i don't have a circular polarizer..oh well.. shot with both the 5D2 and 24-70L as well as the 300 2.8L IS

4th really looks great, could be straight out of a mag or brochure. Well done.

Another vote for the 4th pic!!

For me, the thing about the 4th is the relatively shallower DOF that keeps my attention on the car. With the other pics the background's detail is just enough to draw my eye away from the car.


40D, 30D, 16-35L, 24-70L, 24 1.4L, 50 1.4, 70-200L, 100-400L, 430EX, G9
3 camera bags, tripod, CPs, chocolate lab assistant
and a lot less $$$ in the bank account... but learning a ton here and having a darn good time!!:)

Out of curiosity, how much different would the picture be if you had used any other lens at 2.8 and 'zoomed' with your feet?

Can I get that type of shot with my 50mm?

I don't think so. The distance + the focal length compresses the backgroudn

No4 gets my vote too.
If anything though i may of also tried avoiding the tree line and the fence line.

the others the background and forground were relativley close.
