Beautiful car.
As for the photo I think you aimed/placed the flash oddly weighting the middle a little too much for my taste. I think if you are going for a direct flash approach, hitting it more from the front (or back) would look a bit more natural and add to the composition. (or just buy a few more off camera flashes and light It everywhere!)

Thanks for the welcome and feedback!

I struggled with placement of the strobes and agree the centre of the car is too bright, and couldn't balance the shadows. Would more lights help here?

He has some good info in there, especially at the bottom where he shows studio examples. I disagree with some of his other methods that look unnatural. Draw your own conclusions.
