Thanks! I had actually taken this same shot last year without using HDR and then I just started using HDR on landscapes and whatnot and realized that this shot would look pretty good as HDR so I trekked over that way and did a few different angles using 3 exposures. This one really caught my eye.

So I just picked up a low miles 40D after shooting a 30D for 3-4 years. What will be my initial "Wow - that's a lot better!" areas once I get the camera in hand and start using it?

Make sure your shutter speed isn't to slow to begin with. 1/30 is about as slow as I can go hand held. I sometimes get lucky with 1/15.

Keep in mind that the AA filter is strong on this body and images need resharpening if you haven't upped the sharpness setting in-camera.

I think Ive got it on 7 on sharpness
even at 250, 320, 400, 500+
still aint sharp as others
is there a way to turn off the AA filter?
my luck prob not
and I dont know what an AA filter is
unless they didnt go to the AA meeting? lol

What glass are you using, and how about posting a shot or two which might help with comments


Sometimes I take good photos other times !!!!
