Slow learner. I've finally worked out that +2/3 works great with higher iso.

...and now one from the archives...
I actually have never done anything with this.
Wonder what else is in the "blast from the past" HDD...
Anywho, this is from a fair sized crop, handheld from a Canon 40D and 100-400mm L:
I think it's actually slightly OOF, due to being handheld.

Very nice portrait. How did you light it? Was it a self-portrait and if so how did you set it up?

Please dont take this the wrong way, but with all that glass, why do you only have a 40D?

My eldest found something amusing that captured his attention.

Nifty fifty at 1.8

^^ ish cool....why only 40D..? Simple. As a hobbyist, I rather invest in glass than body. It serves me well and I don't see any reason yet for an upgrade.

check out this thread I created all taken from the 40D.

My sentiments also. I've gone the distance from 10D through 20D and 30D to 40D. In each upgrade I was looking for improvements - and found them. Now, however, I think I've gone as far as I need to or wnat to, for the foreseeable future, with Canon crop cameras. I don't believe I'd get much meaningful benefit from upgrading further, even if cost were no object (except maybe going FF one day).

Glass, on the other hand, is very tempting and it's only lack of funds that's holding me back. There's nothing wrong with the two Tamron zooms I have now, but other possibilities exist the I would find attractive if it were not for budgetary considerations.

Shampoo sounds like an unfortunate name for a hair product.
