In each upgrade I was looking for improvements - and found them. Now, however, I think I've gone as far as I need to or wnat to, for the foreseeable future, with Canon crop cameras. I don't believe I'd get much meaningful benefit from upgrading further, even if cost were no object (except maybe going FF one day).
