I might if I have time, sold my telephoto lens but I heard they have planes and cars on the ground so those might be fun to shoot.

I've posted a gear question in the lens section looking for feedback on choices for a 70-200mm. I know a few of the posters here have one or more of the lenses I'm thinking about and would love any feedback. But, I don't want to clutter up this thread with that discussion.

(https://photography-on-the.net …p?p=15787189#post15787189)

Looking at adding a lens to the line up to better shoot youth sports. Have a 7 y.o. and 4.5 y.o. who are beginning to play more and more sports. Oldest is currently doing baseball and taekwondo. Has played some soccer as well. Youngest will probably start soccer this fall and may follow in the baseball and TKD footsteps. So far I've been using the 24-105mm with acceptable but not outstanding results. The 104 mm reach is a limitation in outdoor sports and the f/4 is a limitation indoors for TKD. So, I'm in the market for a new lens to improve the situation, with the canon 70-200mm choices being at the top of the list.

Here's a list of contenders with some ideas about pros and cons for each. The Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 seems like the best choice, but I wonder about overall reach and I'm leery about the size and weight. The lack of IS would be a concern indoors, but less so outdoors. The 70-200 f/2.8 IS is probably out of my price range.

Thanks sigma; that's a kind offer. I'm afraid to try the IS MKII, cause I'm afraid it will spoil everything else for me. :)

Would love to feel the heft of it though. Perhaps I'll check in the next time there's a meet-up in Orange County. Or, at least, I'll PM you when I get serious and want to give that one a once over before deciding. Appreciate the offer.

Just got the batteries. Looks like my AE-1 is working flawlessly. Put a roll of film. Looks like It will be my camera of choice this weekend. :)

I have a Sigma 70-200 OS that you can try. I find this lens to be pretty great! Next time we get together, you are free to give it a test drive.
