navydoc - I think the street you're thinking of is Hill St. My first time being up there were in the early/mid 80's, still had plenty of oil wells, now a really nice park and condos.

We also used to go down that street at night, and was especially scary from the back seat, 'cause you can't see the bottom of the road. They've added a landscaped median to it now, and somehow not as scary as before.

That could be the street. I know we used to drive down Cherry Ave to Ocean Blvd to go to the beach there...thanks.

Anyone ever ever shoot at Acacia Park in Fullerton?

Can't say that I have, Chad, but I've shot model Remington, below, in-and-round Hiltscher Trail last spring...

There's a small dirt parking lot off of Euclid, where Hiltscher Trail bike path crosses... There are several great locations to shoot there and you won't get bothered by security/police... You'll get the general 'lookie-loos' from bikers and hikers, but that's about it... Anyhoo... Hope that helps ya with your shoot... Heheheheh... Sharing is caring!!!

Wish I could join in on the meet-up tonight, but my employer has different plans for me these days. Have not had the chance to shoot in a long time, looking forward to a day when I can squeeze in some "me" time.

Enjoy the night scape and what looks to be excellent weather, can't wait to see all the photos.

Anyone else? Drop a post and let us know... My target time is 6-6:30p @ Hilltop Park in Signal Hill...

PS. Family and friends are always welcomed, too...

But I think I figured this one out. The battery is toast but the camera fires up on a new pack. Gonna run some test shots through it.

So with our upcoming meetup tomorrow night at Signal Hill, I'll be coordinating the next SoCal get together in the next few weeks... With a little bit of discussion with John (John Photography) on Facebook, we will be doing a dusk-night location shoot in-and-around the Music Hall in downtown LA... Within a couple of blocks from each other (more like across the street), we can cover several locations including:

- Disney Concert Hall
- LA Music Center (Dorthy Chandler Pavillion, Mark Taper Forum, Ahmanson Theatre)
- DWP (Dept. of Water and Power) Fountains
- The Grand Park
- Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels
- Views of Downtown LA Skyline

Since the weather being cooperative, it would be a great opportunity to meet-greet-and-shoot the night away... Obviously everyone's schedule is different, so I'll post a few dates/times... With that, the meetup will be based on most attendance for that date... In addition, if you have friends who would also like to participate, they are more than welcome to join this "2013 SoCal POTN Spring LA Nightscape Photowalk"... Anyhoo... Dates forthcoming in the next few days...

:D

Sounds good Butch.. I've been dying to make it out to a meet...

I vote for a weekend :D

Thanks for the tips, Butch. I have a senior portrait shoot. First time doing this but it's something I want to try out.

I'll have the 70-200 that weekend to so it works out for me.

Also wish I could come out and play tonight. Too bad I have a couple midterms tomorrow.
