Same here. Lately, I've been going "commando" with my lenses. No filters. I got tired of adding yet another layer of fumbling around with something when I set up for a shot.
Having said that, I've never tried ND or GND filters. Might want to get me something like that soon to play with long exposures on landscapes.

^ Hey Dean... Found that waterfall yesterday @ Huntington Library... Took 3 shots of it at different settings... I'll post them up for you to compare... Also, did you see where the waterfall ended? It was in this nice water pool with a lovely statue of a lady... Did you capture that, as well?

:D

Hm....I don't recall. I saw so much (and missed so much). I need to go back there and NOT be rushed by the girlfriend, LOL.

I tried taking a wider shot of this spot, but it was TEEMING with people. Never once got a moment where it was empty like this. Good one. Looks good in B&W too.

it's not a wide shot, it's 50mm :)

I have a little trick too, I go real early to get my shots, but now that daylight savings has changed, the opportunity is gone. The sun is just too harsh by the time you go in.

Just looked at your entire set on Flickr. Very nice stuff.
Funny, I see almost the same shots as mine, location/subject wise.

Here's a link to my set.

yep, if I had more time, I would like to redo some of these shots. My BIL left my tripod head at home, so I carried my tripod with no head........ my cousin used my zoom and ND, so I had no ND and relied on primes.....

Great shots, everyone.
