Sssshhhh... It'll be our little secret... Hehehehe... And it was great to finally meet Dean (Puckman)... You're very welcome with the filter usage... As I can see on your two images, they worked pretty well with your first outing!!! Can't wait to see your waterfall shots and the rest of your captures... With that, I mainly focused on playing with DOF and applying the 'Brenizer Method' to a few landscape shots... I did three different scenes and this was one of them... More to come from yesterday's LA Arboretum shootout with Dean... The 'Brenizer' Bench... ![]() The 'Brenizer' Bench 1Ds3 + 85L + Lee 0.6 ND Filter... All 25 hand held images captured at ISO 100, f/1.2, and 1/1000sec... Stitched, processed, and finalized in CS6... ![]() Nice shot, Butch.

I have to say, I'm a bit puzzled at the purpose of this method. What is it that one is aiming to accomplish using this method, rather than a straight up shot with shallow DOF? It's basically to accomplish/acquire FOV's & DOF's that you wouldn't necessary get... For instance, my 25 image stitched "bench" capture was shot with 85mm @ f/1.2... With applying the Brenizer Method, you can get a shallower DOF at a wider angle... So my bench shot would be similar to a 12mm lens @ f/1.0 (or possibly higher, i.e. f/.95), which obviously doesn't exist... That's the beauty of this methodology... Just imagine the 16-35 lens you were using yesterday, but with an f/1.0 apertuer... WOOF!!! Hi. My name is Butch...

Puckman Cream of the Crop More info | Nov 12, 2013 12:20 | #6755 It did. I can see how it gives the bench, in this case, a more "dreamlike" vibe. Besides the technical aspect of the shot, that's what I'm really seeing in terms of impact. Hopefully, that's the intent there. Hehe. Sony A7RII and a bunch of lenses.

So how do you like the waterfalls? #1 or #2? I edited my original post and added a "PS" to it... heheehe... #2 for me with, perhaps, adding a 1/3-stop darker to bring back some depth... Hi. Just like you I was on my way to work but I had my camera with me so I pulled over and snapped these. I wish I had time to set up a tripod and a bit longer exposure to shoot with. They are pretty much straight out of the camera. All I did was just open up some of the blacks and shadows a bit. IMG_5300 1/100 sec. I also agree with Butch that this scene would be a bit better darkened slightly, but I'm thinking that if you just pull the blacks and shadows back a bit it would bring out the water more.

Something that would fit several lenses and accessories. Yours looked compact enough, but you managed to fit a lot of stuff in it. Sony A7RII and a bunch of lenses.
