Thanks guys.

I'm often posting more than one choice of a given shot for a couple of reasons.

1) My current "workflow" as a beginner is of the "more is better" variety. I tend to take about 20+ shots of the same spot/subject due to my lack of confidence. I'd like eventually to be able to visualize my shot before I take it and maybe take one or two and move on, while being confident of the results. But for now, I take many, and I try to winnow down in post. Sometimes I can't decide which I like best, so I get second opinions from you guys.

2) My post skills are also something I'm working on. And I don't always know what works or doesn't work in a general sense. So sometimes I'll take a shot I like, and process it 2 different ways (diff white balance, or different contrast/shadows/exposure, etc.) and again, I'll ask for second opinions.

Hehe...My long winded way of saying thanks for the feedback guys!

Another winner, Pat.

Stupid time change. Now, I have to leave work around 5. So I miss all the good stuff. I did notice the clouds in the sky, as I was heading home last night, and thought to myself "I bet Pat is nailing this right about now!". hahahaha. Sure enough...

Hey Butch,

How many stops was that GND filter you had me trying out the other day?

It does. Was researching GNDs (added to my "want" list, thanks to you!) but I wasn't sure what we used for that waterfall. Since I've never used em before, I wanted to be able to quantify what I saw in my shots after using the GND in question.

As usual, thanks.

That was the Lee 0.6 ND filter... Linky: http://www.bhphotovideo.com …4_Neutral_Density_ND.html (external link)

And you're welcome...

:D

PS. BTW... All my Lee Filters are used... Well... With the exception of the Big Stopper... It was 'new in box' (never used), but purchased as though it was used...

Yeah. I'm already on the lookout in the marketplace here. :)
Of course, I need the entire getup, ie, the adapter(s) (One for each lens thread size I would intend to use) + the filter holder itself + actual filters.

We'll see what I turn up...Also, got to hold a 6D today (had never seen one in person) and was pretty happy with its ergonomics. Now I just need to go ahead and pull the trigger on one.
I suspect it's gonna be an early Christmas for me this year (I gave up on trying to wait till the holidays to buy the 6D. Instant gratification, here I come!)

^ Be patient and search, search, SEARCH!!! May want to check out FM (fredmiranda.com) and eBay, too, for deals... Food for thought... Anyhoo... A group shot of the fellas last week, when we were @ Signal Hill's legendary Hilltop Park shooting the sunset...

Pat, Dan-O, Chris, Ron, Jim, and myself... Kevin (Strad.ks) should've been there, but he had left a little earlier... Sorry man... Next time!!!

Dean, I have a Hitech 100mm holder with a 77mm wide angle adapter I don't need(I have another 100mm holder). I also have a couple of Coken 85mm holders with a IR filter and .6 GND don't use.

Another thing that can help you save some money, let's say you'd like a .9 ND and GND, if you get the 100x150 GND they can slide them in far enough that they basically become a ND.

Good to know, lovemyram4x4 (That's a mouthful, btw!)

Am I correct in assuming I need a different adapter for each lens size I'd want to use?
I'm looking at this point at the following lenses which I own, and assuming I'd want to be able to GND most of them.
50mm, 100mm, 28mm (all of which have a 58mm thread)
70-200 (67mm thread, although, does anyone need to GND a telephoto?)
and once I get the 6D with the 24-105, that's gonna have a 77mm thread.

That's 3 adapters?
