Nice one,Butch.
I somehow missed that spot entirely when I was at the Huntington library.

I think today may be the day I pull the trigger on that 6d that's been sitting in my cart for the past week. FF here I come!

Again, good points. Thanks. I think I'll just end up going for the Lee system once I've gotten the 6D and figured out which filters I need exactly.

One thing about the stacking of square filters was the holder had a small gap where it would float, to keep the filter from getting scratched. That allowed light to bleed in and ruin my long exposure shot. Just FYI.

I've since bought a square shade that clips on but haven't used it yet. I need to get out and practice!

Rezcar, why do all the cars look like they're parked on the track? We're they just putting around or did you forget to slow down your shutter?

I wish I could have headed up to Fontana on Sat since I only went to Pomona on Sun, but I busy running around doing other things for most of the day.

Took delivery of a new Fuji X-E2 at work today, so I went for a quick stroll to take some sample shots at lunch. Here's one shot I liked -- Queen Mary with Fuji X-E2 and Fuji 35mm F/1.4:

Coming from a 60D, the compactness of the X-E2 takes a little getting used to. The handling is quite nice -- the manual aperture and shutter speed controls are nice. AF speed was quite good even without the lens firmware update. I suspect the IQ will be better than the 60D in a lighter smaller package.

Nice! Those little Fujis seem to have some great IQ.

Well, I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the 6D. Should be here in a few days.

Haha thanks. After 30 minutes and about 50 shots, I'm happy.

Really looking forward to seeing how it does in low light.

Enjoy your 6D; it's always nice to break in the new toys!

I remember you guys posting about that . . . and being jealous of how you captured the colors in those shots.

Ditto. I hit up that area a few weeks ago. But failed miserably at capturing the colors.

Nah. You got all those great reflections in the water. That's what I was going for, but didn't have the focal length for the bridge. Next time, for sure. I'd love to revisit Long Beach.

My first trips somewhere always have an element of "scouting trip" and it's usually not until I get back home and view the results that I get a better idea of where/how I should go about it the next time.
