I process first, mostly because I go to Lightroom before anything else.

I have a question then.

Before I attempted Pano shots today, I only used LR. Import all the pics from a shoot, cull the bad ones, process the keepers. Easy.
With Panos, things get more complex:
Let's say I import my shoot into LR. Now I got 10 photos in LR which are all meant to go into a single Pano shot. What's the best way to go about the round trip from LR, to PS Elements, then back with a single Pano, that needs to go back into LR?
I got pretty frustrated trying different approaches this evening. It's also complicated by the fact that I have to go to a TIF file to be in PS, and then what? Stitch the shots and save the TIF in PS, then import it into LR as a separate image?
Curious to hear how you folks go about it.

Maybe find a program that lets you import JPEGs directly (assuming you're shooting JPEG only or RAW+JPEG) and skip LR? Hugin can do this. Then create a pano and bring it into LR for processing?

Are you wanting to skip the conversion to TIFF? Or skip importing into another program to create the pano? My workflow is the same as yours except I use Hugin, then re-import back to LR.

It's not that. I just wasn't sure if people usually re-import the TIF back into LR as a separate file (since it's now a TIF).
From an organizational aspect, it seems a bit confusing to me.

So does your LR typically have a mix of RAW files (I shoot RAW) and TIFs (the RAW files that have been processed, sent to PS, and then reimported)?

Do you keep all of these in the same location on your hard drive? I liked keeping my original raw files organized by date, as imported from the camera. I suppose I could put the edited TIF in a parallel folder structure just for edited stuff....Hmmm...

Yes, I do have a mix of files in my LR Library. And I also have parallel folders, to keep the originals and processed files separate. It's been working so far.

Owen, I think that may be the way to go for me. Parallel folders. Otherwise things have started to get rather jumbled with edited vs. originals (raw vs. jpg and tif).
I tihnk i'll keep all my originals straight OOC in one folder, and everything else, edits, exports, etc, in another.

So. Anything going on today? Looks like a nice day out.

I think I'll hit up Newport later maybe for sunset.
