Just got back from Bolsa Chica Reservation... First time there... Definitely won't be my last... Hehhehe... Lots of bird activity (pelicans, seagulls, herons, etc.)... Hi Airbutchie, this is typically the slowest part of the season now. I shoot and work out there on the reserve about 2-3 times a month. Jan - March really starts picking up with some visitors that migrate and make their pit stops.

There is quite a bit of raptor activity (Red Tail Hawks, Osprey, Cooper Hawks and Kestrels) right now if you take a hike further in down by the "pocket". Just not sure you want to lug that beast of yours all that way....

I am friends with the director of the land trust which cares for the area, so I hear of the hot tips from time to time of something unusual. Once in a while I am granted access in the areas that is not open to the public.

Thanks for the info, good sir... Since it was my first outing there, I stayed only on the bridge (near the entrance)... I didn't venture/explore beyond that... If you're ever plan of heading down there to shoot, please let me know... I'd love to tag along and shoot with you... And no worries about the lugging heavy equipment... I've got a heavy duty backpack with wonderful padding on the shoulders and back area...

I was going to ask what happened to their hands. It looks like they were all in the same terrible accident that loped off a few fingers.

With the recent time change it is harder getting off work and making it in time for a sunset. Will try.

Noticed that the tide is going low close to that time, so if there is a good sunset you can pickup the cool reflections on the sand. Do you guys meet on the South side for shots?

A bit further down - San Clemente pier. Figured I'd grab a couple with full moonlight overhead.
