Yep, thanks guys. It's for sale, but I'm starting to fall in love with it more. :-)

I'm so stoked to have this lens,,,, found in a Pawn shop in a not-so-nice part of town at a price you wouldn't believe even if I told you,, apparently it had been sat on a shelf for months. In basically unused condition, it was attached to an old 1D-V film camera (also like new).

Unfortunately, having recently ditched most of my Canon gear (apart from an old Rebel XT I found in my desk,,, and my trusty EOS-M) ,, I find myself without a modern Canon EF body to test it on. I've ordered an EF adapter for the EOS-M and one for my A7 as well,,, will post my poor efforts with this lens sometime next week!

Thanks,, I will. One thing that did surprise me though (other than the the massive weight) was the plastic/polycarbonate body,, I always assumed this lens had a metal body.

Hehe. It feels exactly like the 85/1.2.

Just a quick wide-open snap of one of my boys with the EOS-M ,,, still waiting for an EF adapter for my A7.

I adore this lens, and I do honestly believe it is the best lens that Canon has ever made,, and I've had every fast 50 that Canon ever produced,, including the 0.95. The EF 50mm 1.0 is utterly useless in 99% of situations but damn,, that 1% more than makes up for it,,, sure here's halation but it is so damn sharp wide-open,,, it can do things that even the glorious Noctilux cannot.

There is a lot of silly hate out there for this lens, but none of it comes from anyone who has actually owned it.

At the end of the day, my paranoia over the AF motor or some other electrical part dying, let me trade it to a very nice local photographer for a pair of basically new EF lenses (70-200 2.8L II & 50mm 1/2L) and a nice little pile of cash.

Definitely gonna miss this one,,,

I miss mine too. The AF stopped functioning after 6 months of ownership and I was quoted $1,000 to repair it. I eventually sold the broken lens for $2,000 and without the worry of repairing it.

Like autofocus ? :-)

No, really, what are the things it can do that the Noctilux can't ? Note that there are 3 different Noctilux lenses...

1Dx, 5D2 and some lenses
