You should use the search function, there is plenty about this subject.

Great question, and no offense but it has been asked thousands of times. There are so many threads with similar questions and a great deal of information and tips are in those threads. Do some searches, read the Stickies at the top of this forum and then when you've formulated some specific questions, then post with some details and specifics.

I'm saying this to help you out. The more information you can give us, the easier it is to help you. Knowing basic things like what you want to shoot, size of the room, windows or not, color of room, carpet, wood floors, Indoors and outdoors, budget, etc.

Looking to get another studio flash to go with the WL5000 and want it to be similar in output/power of the WL5000.

Looking at 4 and wondering how they compare with the WL

1. Westcott Strobelite monolight - 150 model #150
2. Impact - 160 model # VSD-160
3. Impact monolight kit - 100 with softbox model# EX100
4. Interfit - Stellar X300 (INT 421). Favoring this one!!

or just follow rule 4-9 :)

If you know an answer to a question either answer it or say nothing. Giving newbies blunt answers like "search the forum" is not allowed - please use the typing effort to giving the answer instead. Or just give the link to that post you wished the newbie should have searched for. Respect newbies - you were a newbie once.

I'll take it nowhere. If you don't want to contribute something that helps the OP out, then don't post. Pretty simple rule isn't it?

A good place to start is with the stickies for the lighting forum. Great information there.

then why not post the links for him?

Because search links only last for a short time until there's a change in one of the threads.

Because you have a descriptive title, you can look at the "Similar Threads" links at the bottom-left of this page!
Each link you visit should provide more links at the bottom.

I thought it was "give a man a fish he eats for a day. Teach him to fish, he sits in a boat all day drinking beer"

How was that for my first post here?? Been lurking for awhile, will start engaging soon. Dont want to many people to laugh at me since this whole photography thing is new to me.
