This is somewhat of a weird question, but I need someone to explain this to me.

6:17:14 PM-07:00

What does the 07:00 in that date mean?

Without knowing the context or format in use....it is really hard to say. At first glance, it appears to list an event that runs from 6:17 PM until 7:00 AM...mixing 12/24 time formats. It could also list an item that ran for 7 minutes either starting or ending at 6:17 PM.

That's how this program is reading the capture date of my photo. So I'm guessing it's EXIF data.

It almost looks like -7 for the timezone and it just formats it as -7:00...

That would be my guess. Are you in the Mountain time zone?

What you show is a time that is expressed in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC).

UTC time is Greenwich Mean Time plus or minus hours for east or west of Greenwich.

So the time you show was 6:17 pm in Greenwich, less 7 hours, which is the mountain time zone in North America. Eastern time zone (mine) is minus 5.

Cheers

Actually, if you're Pacific time, then that time is Pacific Daylight Time. Pacific Standard Time is UTC-0800 and Daylight Time is is UTC-0700. Depends on the date the photo was taken and what the time zone setting is on the camera.

That's probably why. The pictures were taken in the summer. It makes sense now. Now I know why I hate DST!
