Firstly, Happy New Year!

OK, either I'm missing something really simple or it's another case of Elements' ACR being limited compared to full CS, but I can't figure out how to get ACR to open Tiff files as others have mentioned here and elsewhere.

I'm using Elements 6 on the Mac with the latest version of ACR. What am I doing/not doing or can I not do this, thanks.

In Photoshop, I think it's a preference you have to set. Could this be the case with Elements too?

Thanks mate, there's nothing in Elements preferences themselves, Bridge has a setting to prefer ACR for JPEG and TIFF files but I've had this ticked and it makes no difference. Any other suggestions?

On CS3 I think hitting Cmd+R in Bridge opens an image in ACR...
Might work for Elements?

open the PSE editor
select in the file menu "open as" (alt-crtl-o)
browse and select your TIF file with just 1 click
select in the "open as" menu at the bottom "camera raw"
click "open"

There you are...

Thanks Piet, that did it. I tried Cmd+R René but it doesn't work in Elements, funny how the functionality is there but has to be accessed in such a clunky fashion!

Adobe likes to build in some differences between the Photoshop CS (expensive) and the Photoshop Elements (cheap) product families... ;)
