First Purchase of 09 - What will it be?

Ordering a 300 2.8, 1.4x, and 2x tomorrow. Gonna be my only purchase this year unless something breaks. Or if I come into money and I can get the 500 as well.

Well I've got some items that I purchased in '08 but are on backorder and won't charge the credit card until they ship in '09. So my first purchase will probably be the EG-D and EG-S screens for the 5D Mark II. The first planned purchase in '09 is going to be a 300mm f/2.8L IS.

300 2.8 and a 1.4x II is on order. Should be here Monday. I'll get the 2x next week sometime. OOh excitement! Now just to sell my 100-400L

My first purchase was a 5d for $750 +(35) shipping on Ebay. Why the low price? AF confirmation lights do not come on.

I'm hopping they release the 35L II and 50L II this year so i can buy them. i may get a 5d classic too so i can get me some FF loving. Then next year a 5D3

My first purchase of 2009?

I just purchased a factory refurbished xTi for $299. I own other cameras, but I wanted to get something I can take with me wherever I go - to be prepared for those shots that were previously lost because I had nothing with me.

If stolen, a $300 loss will be an "ouch," but I figure it's a lot better than taking and losing something like the 5D.

The xTi is a good camera, is capable of taking excellent pictures so if an opportunity presents something, at least I'll be ready

It'll be a 1D mkII for me! Hopefully as soon as I sell my other bodies.

Second purchase: Some flavor of 300mm f/2.8 once tax rebates come later in the year.

That'll be it until winter when I might get some AB 800's for basketball

I need flash(es). Probably going to end up with at least one Vivitar 285HV, maybe an old Canon speedlight. And I'll end up using the eBay Cactus V2s transmitter and receivers. We'll see.

I just won an auction for a lightly used 5D MkI on Ebay yesterday. I cannot wait to try it out!
