Hi... My names Paul and I have serious issues with prime lens addiction. It started with a 50mm 1.4 and since then a 35L has joined the pack. I fear an 85,100 or 135 may join soon. I deeply worry for my wallet.

How are you liking the 35L on the 50D?

My 24L II has been a huge let down since buying it in April. That is, until it's 2nd trip to Canon:

Warm welcome everybody! :)
@Paul: Try the 85 1.8 on your 50D. I use it on mine, and I love it.
Been thinking about buying the Siggy 30. You guys happy with yours?

I actually tried the Siggy 30mm. I REALLY liked it for the day I had it. Then my cousin told me I had $900 locked in his credit card from a mistake canon made (they refunded the wrong card) and I had to return it to fund the 35L. I'm looking for a new telephoto prime actually! i'm torn between the sigma 85mm, 100mm 2.8 L and the 135L. I feel like the 85mm isnt long enough outdoors, perhaps the 135L is too long indoors and the 100L isn't wide enough because I'm hooked on wide aperature lenses.

It never leaves my 50D. I'm giving my sister my 50mm as a birthday gift because I just find no time for it with the 35mm on the 50D. Though I must say, the 50mm + a 430ex speedlite makes an amazing combination. Regardless though, the 35L is forever in my collection. I'll be heart broken if the new 35LII corrects most if all CA. It's the one thing that stops me from shooting wide open all the time.

On a side note, I LOVE this thread. I feel at home with you addicts. <3

Just for good measure, here's my personal favorite photo the 35L has brought me:

I am seriously thinking about the Siggy hahahaha..
For your telephoto choice, there's that 100mm f/2 and I believe it has the same quality as 85mm f/1.8 in terms of build and image quality.

Cheers! :D

Wouldn't doubt this has been asked a few times, but if you only one prime to use for portraits and as an walk-around/everyday lens, what would it be?

^ I would use a 50L. 50mm on FF is most versatile for my type shooting, over other fixed focal lengths.

I've got the prime bug! I recently got a 50L and a 5D2 and I love the combo. Now that I sold my 24-70L, I'm eyeing the 135L and maybe the 24LII.

Man after seeing those 35L shots, my decision is even more strained. I really want a 24-70, but that 35L is just so gorgeous, and I know I will be able to get some amazing shots...

I only shoot with primes, 30 f1.4 / 50 f1.4 / 135 f2. The last zoom lens I owned was almost a decade ago, I've never looked back since.
