I'd actually take it a step further, since he sold the 24-70 2.8 II.... I'd be ok with a group hug.

Well, lately my bag has contained only my 6D, Yashica ML 28/2.8, ML 50/1.4, EF 35/2 and Sears 135/2.8... I guess I'm sort of joining this club :)

You need more Manual Focus glass.
I've got a Nikkor 24mm and 105mm (with an adapter) with your name on it! Haha

I like primes but I am staying away from the manual focus/aperture lenses.

I'm in Canada. Isn't that weird!

I think I'm going to get booted out of PLA until I get a 50mm. I just bought another zoom. Now I have 3 and 3...

No shame in having zooms. But you have to wear this hat and stand in the corner until your prime to zoom ration improves.

Why's that?

Why's that?

for me.... the combination of the 5D markiii's great AF technology + my eyes not being as sharp as most... I want to use AF lenses.

Why's that?

Because I have what I need in EF lenses. I cannot afford anything else anyways (at least not the good ones). Buying another $30 50mm f/2.8 isn't really all that exciting or going to offer me anything better. Also, I cannot see how someone could manually track a sporadic moving subject any better than auto focus does. I would have no keepers.
