.. it's done.

the last nail in my prime addiction coffin was letting go of my beloved 70-200mm f/2.8L IS. i should be institutionalized for this.

uhh

i think you're still missing a 50mm

Once August gets here, Im letting go of my zooms in favor of a nice prime lineup. Gonna start with a nifty fifty (had one once and im a tard for selling it) and a 135L. Getting rid of the 70-200 f/4L and the Tamron. Also switchin to a 5Dc :) After I get some money I debating on a Zeiss 35 f/2 or a 35L. Maybe a 50L, will have plenty of time to decide since Ill be broke as a joke after all that initial upgrading lol

Sigh... Stupid primes have spoiled me. I want to be happy with just the 24-70 and the 70-200 (save for the mark II) but I can't find sharpness in these lenses, so it always ends up disappointing me.

No sharpness at all? Really? My 24-70 has given me lots of tack sharpness.

I gave up shooting zooms a while ago, except my 20-40 (can't afford to replace that yet.) Besides the primes I currently own, I hope to purchase the 135 f2 at the end of summer.

quick question, what is your 24L most used for?

If you have FF and 1.6x bodies, would you get 24L or 35L?

Totally depends on what you like to shoot. For use on both bodies, I'd rather have the wider 24L, personally. That way you pretty much have both (FOV of 24L on 1.6 body is just a bit narrower than that of a 35mm on FF)

depends if you want wide or what's closest to the actual eye image. I personally like the 35L just when I swap from 1.6x to FF I still get the image of what I was looking at as it happens

Hello gents. Any recommendations for a wide fast prime under $400? I shoot with a Rebel XT, and I have the 50/1.8 but it's FoV is too narrow. Anything equivalent to the 18 - 28 range on an APS-C sensor? Not looking for a fish-eye either; this is just for general shooting.

Many consider the Tokina 11-16 as a wide prime lens that just happens to zoom a bit. Its worth a look. Im planning to upgrade to it very soon. It is however around $600 used.

I rented a 135L earlier this week and while it was fun, I just think it will be too long for my purposes.

My current prime debate: Canon 50 1.4 USM vs. Sigma 50 1.4 vs. Canon 85 1.8.

My chime: 50 1.4, such a great lens. A keeper for sure and I'm very glad I got this prime
