I'm back! :D So after some flirtations with the 70-200 f/4 IS I had to come back to primes. It's just not the same shooting at f/4 versus the speed of a prime! I have the 135L on the way! Glad to be fully engaged in prime land again! :D

Alright, it's time for me to introduce myself here.

I have been obsessed with photography for a little less than two months now, and really thought I had found my perfect lens in the 24-105. Coming from a nifty fifty, the lens was very sharp and versatile.

Little did I know, the prime came to haunt me. I missed the low light capabilities, but the shallow DOF even more.

Two days ago, I bought a ZE 35/2 Distagon. Today I sold my 24-105. Monday I'm picking up a 135L. What's next...?

Yup I am a prime lens addict now.. I been shooting with my nifty fifty for a little over 4 weeks now and love it.. I don't miss my kit lens at all....I do find that the 50mm can be a tad long for me so I am stuck right now deciding on the 24L, 35L, or the Sigma 30mm.

The Sigma 30 is an excellent choice! It's the only lens I've kept for the last 8+ months.

I just acquired a Canon 50mm 1.4 from my cousin. It was his dads but they no longer use it. Anyways... I love this lens. Portraits I take of my daughter are amazing. It does reach further quite a bit on my crop body, so it requires to step back, which my wife really hates. She'd rather use the kit lens, but the 50mm waaay sharper and the DOF is amazing.

Absolutely love my 24Lii on my 7D, but am looking for more now... Either I save up and get a 85/1.8 or 135/2... or I pick up a 5D classic... bah. For now, I'll just shut up and shoot with my lovely combo and keep pondering over this decision.

My current primes are the 30mm and 60mm. What should I get next that wont break the budget? I would love the 135L but I think thats a tad out of my budget. Anything else in that range? Also considering the 200 f2.8L.

I only have the nifty, but (as I am sure I have said before) the 200L will be my next purchase (aside from a bag to put the gear in lol)

Exclusive prime lens shooter here.

50 1.8, 135L. Havent used my 24-70 for weeks since switching to a 5DII. I will be selling it soon to fund a 35L.

I have only old primes for my used 1D2N because of a limited budget at this time. I have several M42 mount Super and S-M-C Takumars which produce as fine an image as I am able to take. The Canon lens I rent for wildlife and birds is the 400 f/5.6L which I can occasionally fit into my budget. While zooms are more versatile I still prefer the images a fine prime can give me. :D

I'm there! Just traded my 16-35LII for a 24LII. Got it in today, so I'm officially shooting all primes. Pretty darn excited to shoot the next wedding with that setup. Just shooting around a bit today I already love the 24. Only other one I'd like to add is the 35L. We'll see about that soon. :)

i am curious if 28mm is going to be wide enough for me on my 20d.... I'll guesstimate where that is on my 18-55 and then tape it down for a day... just outta curiosity. whats the cheaper lenses in the 20-30 range there?
