How do you check the number of actuations on this body?

You cant, unless you ask Canon to do it in their service centres.

There is a piece of software that will tell you the number of actuations a 1 series shutter has had. I will try and find my copy. (Not used it since I went over to a Mac)

If you have photoshop, you can find it in file info for any image shot with the MKII as well.

I just searched on a jpeg file--- it is not showing up in photoshop cs3 --- does it have to be a raw file?

That is what I was thinking. I check the EXIF info in the "file info" area, and there was nothing about a shutter count.
