are all brands created equal?
Which brands do you use that are recommended?
Any suppliers with particularly good deals(including shipping)?
Anything else that needs to be said, just say it :D

Probably, who knows.

Which brands do you use that are recommended?

Kodak

Any suppliers with particularly good deals(including shipping)?

Yes, any local camera store. Should be no more than $3.

Anything else that needs to be said, just say it :D

The Moons Over My Hammy® at Denny's is delicious.

I've used Kodak lens tissue for over 40 years. It's still a very good product.

I will NEVER use a microfiber cloth (except for a brand new one just taken out of a sealed package), lens pen, or any other device (other than a very soft brush) that gets reused on my lenses. These devices typically get used over and over and could easily bring grit that was cleaned off a lens back to the lens, potentially causing scratches in the surface of the lens. Even washing a microfiber cloth would not be good enough for me - fine grit could still be embedded in the cloth.

Photographic Solutions Pec-Pad Photo Wipes - 4x4" (100 Pack)

Pec-Pad's are the ideal photo wipes for those who hate photowipes! Until Pec-Pad's came along, photowipes fell apart, left lint and scratched emulsions.

Pec-Pad's are so soft they can be safely used to clean all types of sensitive surfaces : scanners, CD's, mirrors, lenses, telescopes etc.

The 4 x 4" (10 cm.sq.) wipes are perfect for cleaning 35mm and other small areas.

Note:Pec-Pad's are not recommended for cleaning the CCD. It is not the same material used in the Sensor Swabs. PSI does not approve or warranty the CCD or any camera part from any damage caused by using non approved products.
Key Features

• PEC-PAD's are extremely strong, lint-free and so soft and pure (99.999%) it is almost impossible to scratch an emulsion with them.

• When PEC-PAD's are used with PEC-12, they are ideally suited for cleaning photographic film and print emulsions.

I heard the same thing too, but never found anything to confirm it. Anyone else?

I have some packets of Kodak lens tissue that I bought a long time ago. It says very clearly on the front of the packet: "Made in Rochester N.Y. by Eastman Kodak Company".

I also have some packets that I have purchased within the last four or five years. On the back of these packets, under the word Kodak, it says "LICENSED PRODUCT". Additional text says: "Kodak is a trademark of Eastman Kodak Company used under license."

To the right of all that, is this block of text:

Made in U.S.A. by
The Tiffen Company
Hauppauge, NY 11788
631-273-2500
1-800-64502522
www.tiffen.com (external link)

By the way - the Tiffen lens tissue packet shown on the B&H site has precisely the same printing on the front of the packet as the more recently purchased Kodak lens tissue packet with the exception of "Tiffen" instead of "Kodak". This appears to be the same product to me.

Another manufacturer of high quality lens tissue is Peca Products, Inc. in Beloit WI (external link). They private label lens tissue for a manufacturer of some extremely sensitive optical equipment that I work on from time to time.
