I'm ordering a used 100mm macro, the seller is telling me that it is "the original version"
Can anyone verify ,if Canon has made a SECOND version of this lens, and,if so,is it a better quality than the first version?
I've googled this ,and can't find any info .
your help/advice would be appreciated

Mike

Once I saw a web site where someone was comparing bokeh of different lenses and mentioned that it was way better on the first version than the second. Again, one person's opinion. Myself, I'd hold out for the newer version - more resale value. Besides, you really want to get the Sigma 150/2.8 macro instead.

Gasrocks,Jacuff
Thanks for your reply's ...good info.
Actually I was looking at the new Sigma70mm,and also the 105.,but there is a canon 100 macro on ebay that caught my eye.
I just got a 5D {not 5dII},and I wanted a dedicated lens..thought a good quality macro might fit into my lens set up.
