In the interest of keeping threads on topic, I wanted to post that some people, for their needs, perceive that the 24-70L is no greater than what the 17-85 can produce, ie here.
Have you used both, and what did you discover?

The one I had was a very good copy and a good performer. However, it is a little on the slow side, not to mention the build difference...
