Has anyone used this product and have an opinion?

It's pricey, but I'm getting annoyed with having to cut and replace the disposable LCD screen protector every time one starts to peel.

Damn pricey!!!

I use these on my 1D bodies. They've stayed put for over two years now, no signs of peeling, and they don't distort the LCD image.

12 bucks for your camera, free USPS shipping.

You don't need ANYTHING on top of the LCD screen protector that Canon puts on their DSLR cameras. The original screen protector is a rather thick and very tough plastic. Many of us who don't "baby" our cameras have no scratches whatsoever on the original LCD covers and that includes at least one fellow on the forum who often has his camera swinging in front of his large belt buckle. I cannot find ANY abrasion or scratch marks on the LCD protector on my 20D and I surely don't baby the camera in the field.

Anything that could damage the Canon LCD protector will rip right through soft PDA-style "protectors". Those are really designed to take constant rubbing by a stylus and not to protect against significant impact or sharp objects.

The original Canon LCD protector can be removed with a suction cup. The replacement part (which comes with a new adhesive strip around the inner edge) costs something like $20. You could almost purchase TWO replacements from Canon for the price of the one accessory.

We discuss this a lot. I think if you want a cover, go for it! I use old PDA ones I have stored sometimes since I sweat and use make up that smudges the LCD when I am shooting events. It helps keep the sweat off, but the LCD cover is tough, don't need anything over it.

I agree with Skip - I use an LCD cover on my PDA, which I constantly have a stylus poking and dragging over; I don't use one on my cameras, which have screen protectors already in place and aren't subjected to continual abrasion from a stylus which will inevitably pick up grit in a very short time. My cameras have bare metal showing through the paint on the back, but the LCD covers (original ones) are fine. This after between 3 and 5 years of use. Since, unlike Suzy, I don't use makeup, I don't need the protection from that; anything that gets on mine, a thumb swipe does fine removing.

Well, since I know you don't wear make-up and I do wear foundation and all sorts of age-deferring lotions ;), the covers are sometimes good, especially in 105 degree outdoor weddings. :) Which you know, I shoot. :)

OTOH, 105 deg. (40 deg. C) air shows and sun tan lotion don't give me a problem. I can see the pigments would build up on whatever you clean with, though.

Horses sweat, men perspire and ladies merely glow!

Those lcd screens are super tough, I dont see a need to use anything on them.

Glowing aside, a dry tissue does the job on most days. The LCD is tough.

I think we've gotten away from the original intent of the OP's post.

IMO, the protector he was looking at is wayyyyy overpriced, there are much more reasonably priced alternatives available, such as the ones I pointed out.

It's up to him/her to decide if such a device is needed or wanted.

Since I don't see a need for one, they are all overpriced ;-)a

Another solution looking for a problem.

An ounce of prevention, and 12 bucks for peace of mind. Is it a belt and suspenders together? Perhaps, but my pants will definitely stay up.

I purchased one of these on Ebay. $9.00 inluding shipping. Yes it comes from China and it took 16 days to arrive. As a matter of fact - On the sameday I ordered something from Calamut Camera in NY. The item from China arrived one week before the item from NY. I've been very happy with this screen protector and has seen them at camera shops for $29.00
