Nice shots! I really like the first one. But that looks like a crooked swing... much like mine I'm afraid.. :)

First, welcome to the forum! :D

As "first golf photos" these are pretty nicely done. If you plan on shooting more of golf, I'd like to point out the following:

General comment: You need to adjust your exposure as these are all pretty underexposed.

For image #1: It's generally better to shoot in front of the player and not from the back.

Image #2: Again, it'd have been better to have taken this shot from the front and with the cart out of the way. Also, an impact shot (golf club contacting the ball with the divot flying off) would have been better than a shot of the follow-through, especially considering that the player's weight is on the back foot instead of the front foot.

Image #3: Nice bunker shot that could have been perfected with a much faster shutter speed to freeze the ball.

Image #4: There's some vignetting going on with all of your images, but this one exposed those a lot more with clear sky. Also, since the players all seem to be your friends, perhaps the person putting wouldn't have minded if you had used your camera flash as a fill light right after the putter impact.

All of your images are nicely composed. Of them all, I'd say I liked the first one the best due to the dramatic clouds scene with the long shadow of the player.

Again, welcome on board! :)

haha thank you everyone! yeah i shot these using the 18-55mm kit lense on my xsi (which is smashed now sadly :( ) and on shutter priority. i dont think im good enough for aperture or manual settings yet. the vignetting i added in photoshop. i kinda like it, but i've noticed others dont.lol the top pictures are of my dad and then his friend below. yeah they wear jeans haha far from pro =P oh and the clouds were amazing that day.

exactly!! I cannot even step on a course with Jeans on.....let a lone a non-collared shirt.
ohh...not bad on the shots. Agree with comments....kick that shutter speed up and stop stop action! You can get nice sand explosions like that as well.

lol...most place here do. They even have ugly rental shirts for you if you forget yours!
Bad part is.....you can watch a guy in the woods searching for 10 minutes for a ball wearing 60.00 pants and 50.00 shirt......while a guy in "much less" golf attire....breeze right passed him in the fairway......go figure!;)
