I was assigned on a Saturday a few weeks ago to photograph a High School basketball team. This team every year does something out of the ordinary. Last year they posed with a Desert race car out on a grass field. This year it was a shot with SWAT. Originally they planned to do it in front of one of the armored vehicles right out side the hanger they store it. That day Mother nature decided she wanted to add a wrinkle and the winds were blowing around 30mph with higher gust. Lucky for me I brought lights as we desided to shot in the hanger and use a couple of vehicles. After I did my first individual "sportrait" I realized the SWAT lettering on the side of the armor car was highly reflective. I had to quickly think how to light the whole main group with out causing the letters to "glow". This is a diagram of how I went about setting up the lights I had.

This is the how it all turned out.
