I used the N with the 1.4x and 400mm and it is a great combo. Used it 80% in that config on my last Africa trip and IQ and AF speed was excellent. At that price you can't really lose.

..... and I bought that very same 1D Mk2N from Condyk a few months ago and it is as good as he says! :D

It complements my 5D (soon to be a 5D Mk2! :)) perfectly. I use the 5D for landscapes, anything moving gets the 1D. In low light the 5D has a slight edge but I got some excellent indoor classical music shots using the 1D 2N with a 70-200 f2.8 IS L. Just don't expect much from ISO above about 1250.

Perry, i would jump on this deal to be honest. the mkIIn is an amazing body and will be a perfect compliment to your 5D for when you need the extra speed or reliable focus.

+1 I'm hoping to get that combo at sometime. Those two camera compliment each other and you will have the best of both worlds. Speed, crop, IQ of the 1D, FF, bokay, resolution of the 5D. I've got camera envy. Pounce on that deal, you won't regret it.

Man I love buying used. Who would've thought that this time tomorrow, I could have a 5D and 1DIIN all for less than the price of a 5DMKII? :D

I'm liking the comments about the 5D + 1DIIN combo. I've been thinking about this combo for a while, but the price has never been right. They seem like a real dynamic duo, especially for the money. I like having two bodies, but I don't like one being vastly superior to the other. A 1DIII or 1DsII/III would do that to the 5D, as well as make me very poor :p, while a 1D Classic or XXD series would just feel inferior to the 5D.

I just missed the fedex delivery guy who had my 1dmk2n that I bought from Wade S here on POTN.
I do alot of sports and everything I have read has been positive about the camera except the size.
If you have a grip on as I do my 40 & 20d the size wont matter.
I have already thought about biting it and buying another 2n as I do not think I will be happy with a 40d and a 2n as there will be too much of a difference in the cameras. I dont change lenses and just leave the 70-200 and 24-70 on them.
I have also read alot on the 5d and thought i may like to have a used one of them for the lanscapes I do.

I bought the 2n and dont know how happy I will be but I can just imagine and think you will be happy also.

I would jump on it and not look back!!!!

You really wouldn't ever consider the 5D? Even used at say, $1000? :O

Hard to say. I don't really hate the camera. I just think it's over-hyped and over-priced. I'm allergic to fairy dust.

^ Yes. When one body is vastly superior to another, the inferior one just sits collecting dust, which I don't like. You should try the 5D, you might be able to get one used by selling the 40D and 20D. It's a really, really good camera.

I'm pretty sure that even with the MKIIN, the 5D will remain my primary body. I'm just madly in love with that camera.

Used prices for the 5D are so good right now though. That allergy might be a problem though - that magic fairy dust just oozes out of the 5D :D. I think they might have forgotten to build the fairies into the 5DMKII .

At 6'5, I must admit that that's the first time that anyone has called me Tinkerbell. I'm figuring Shippensburg PA can't be THAT long of a drive ;)

I really, really hope this guy doesn't flake out on me! We've set a meeting time (11am) but his price is so good I hope someone doesn't like, drive up to him and grab it today .

Question: So the MKIIN only has P, M, Av, and Tv right? No auto and A-DEP? If so, good. I loved that on my 1D you could turn modes off, and I switched off that useless A-DEP mode, leaving only the 4 mentioned above.

No auto also means it confuses n00bs if you hand it to them .
