Hmm perhaps we should all find a duck photo where the duck is looking at its bellybutton.

No.... I actually like my little leopard cub. Did You know there are only 34 Amur leopards left in nature? Support Your local zoo so they can pariticipate in breeding programs.

Do I win an award for the oldest avatar? Mine is of my mum and dad's wedding on the 26 December 1953!

For their 50th anniversary I scanned the original (which was showing its age) and coloured the flowers. My mum liked it! :)

After a long night of frustrating handheld self portraits in a mirror, I decided maybe this was what the tripod was for...

Taking these shots helped me regain my composure...pun intended.

That's you on a bad day?! Not too shabby:D ;)

Like you i like to see who i'm talking to most of the time. The funny thing is some people have not themselves in the avtar, but someone they admire like their girlfriend or someone semi famous which really confuses things:lol:

These avtars are odd things aren't they -it's so hard getting something that will stand out in such a tiny picture. It has to have impact and work well in a square format. An interesting challenge artistically
Lots of contrast seems to help

I think my first avtar was of this puppy .I got abit jealous of everyone talking about their L zooms so this was my joking response

I saw this outside my door this morning and had to take a shot.....

IMG NOTICE: [NOT AN IMAGE URL, NOT RENDERED INLINE]

It reminded me of all the "bellybutton cleaning" shots of birds people use as avatars. Not particularly good composition or light, but it made me laugh!

P.S.... My avatar was taken at the Wild Animal Park in San Diego. It's not Africa, but it will have to do until I can get there!

Rosie :)

I've had many avatars.....

My first few were colored pencils that came bundled with this forum (I like colors).

Then it was Nemo.........from finding Nemo.

Now its a fat lady.............cuz it ain't over till the fat lady sings!!! J/K, I thought her expression was just fun and carefree. And no, we are not related.........

I like cats, and some of the first pictures I took with my 20D were of a friend's cats.
Anyone who's spent any time at all trying to get that one great cat picture knows it's nearly impossible and I just thought this one came close, so I chose it for my avatar to show it off a bit.

The meaning of our names... thread motivated me to change my avatar. As it says on the sweet spot, it's one of the baseballs used in the Florida State League.

Jerry ~ Baseball is a game where only defensive players handle the ball and offensive players who hit successfully in only one third of their at bats are among the best in the sport.

This is the one I use here, and actually I just now created it to use here because it's my favorite picture I've taken of my kitty:

This is the one I use on the other message boards I post on. It's Paula from the SNES game, Earthbound. I like it because it's small yet animated. :)
