Thanks everyone. I decided to keep the one on the right. Here's more from the same trip:

Original Message:

I'm looking for a preference on this image. Both were shot hand held with the 17-55 f/2.8 IS and a polarizer.

The image on the left was taken with manual exposure then I adjusted individual colors, saturation, luminance, curves, etc in Lightroom.

The image on the right was taken in aperture priority mode using +/- 2 auto exposure bracketing then processed in Photomatix.

There are parts of each one that I like and dislike. Aside from the fact that the framing isn't identical between images, which do you prefer and why?

(image sized reduced from original message)

I like the one on the right much better. To me it shows much more detail in the sky, the leaves and rocks.

The differences are fairly subtle, although I'll agree with stuman that the one on the right does indeed show more detail in the sky and leaves, but I prefer the tone and colour of the moss on the left image. :P

the framing is better on the right one, while the color is better on the left shot.

I think the right one has better over-all exposure and detail. Compare the large rock on the right in each image, for example.
