I always wanted to shoot this barn, it catches the golden light late in the day, but decided it looked good in snow as well. Shot raw, converted to HDR, tone mapped back to jpeg enhanced for detail. I like the feel of this one, has a B&W feel although full color shot.

I like this a lot. It has a great feel to it.

Just a minor suggestion: you might want to crop it a bit differently so it's not quite so dead-center. Not a huge deal, but I think it would enhance the impact a bit.

Nice job!

Same thoughts here....going down the highway and seeing any old farm, I always wonder what it might have been like when it was in it's prime.
Love the barn photo...Thanx for sharing.

This is a beautiful scene, Jim. I'm a sucker for old barns and catching one in the snow is just that much better.

With emphasis on "not a huge deal" - I also think a moderate crop would be worthwhile. Just to the left of the post on the left, I think. Regardless, it displays great as is. Nice capture.

Regards,
Mark

I would love to see some of the afternoon light on it, but that shot is still good.

I like it!

Not to now ruin it for you, but as soon as I saw this I thought what a great expression that barn has! I have been looking for a few objects today with "faces" and the barn above looks surprised to me!

This is a fantastic shot. It sure does have a B&W feel. The ever so slight warmth of the wood does it for me. Great stuff !

Awesome scene!! I totally agree though about the crop, I think it could greatly benefit from losing some of the right side (to push the barn more towards the right/center of the frame).

Ragin Blues,
This is the full color shot, very cold, gray overcast day. The tree's are green, and the wood color is natural.....
That's part of what I liked about it was the B&W Feel to it...
Jim

Thank you all for the positive comments.......
