I watched my girlfriend play in a practice polo game against a local interscholastic team. She played with another team member and a substitute. This is only my second time shooting the sport.

Shot with my XSi and 55-250IS. Some shots were taken with my 50 1.8 but I don't think I put any of those in this thread.

Things I have already taken away from this experience.

1. Set a standard white balance and stick to it. This time I had it set to auto and I noticed the differences between shots.

2. Buy extra battery and keep in my pocket. It was very cold and the camera kept turning off. Not 100% sure why but when I removed the battery and warmed it up, the camera worked again.

3. A higher ISO than 1600 would have been useful in the later part of the day. Shutter speeds required were a touch too long and made those shots blur a bit.

4. Mono pod would probably have helped. Still don't own one yet though.
