Beautiful shot and impressively sharp for a hand-held shot for sure!

Cheers!

Totally dig this shot. Might have made a great HDR image?

chmod

Thanks!

Yeah, it probably could have worked well as a pseudo HDR but there was enough range in the shot for DPP to pull out most of the shadows and highlights...Though I might try that anyway to see if I can improve on the sky a bit!

Here's one more from a different, longer angle and cropped to better frame the shot...

I re-did the shot with a second fill flash and without the bottom corner of the mixer being cut off!

Some hdr real estate photography i did for an open this weekend:

My first hdr's ever using CS4. I personally think hdr is tangible evidence of evil in the world but for real estate people expect it.

Very nice real estate photos, Mike! ;)

The HDR's look a little on the bleached out side but in some ways, it's still a pretty cool look because it makes the space look bright and huge!

Cheers!

yes full framed and obviously 14mm uncropped. WB was set to daylight to warm things up a bit

Jeff, I much prefer the first image of the lighthouse. The red color of the tower ties together. The first image is bright and crisp. The 2nd is flat and not dramatic; the tower gets lost in the complexity of the scene. -- Thanks for submitting these.

Thanks for the detailed feedback on the shot!

I agree, the first one definitely has more pop to it and almost looks 3-D. The only thing I really liked about the second shot was how nice the geometry of the shot came out with the lighthouse nice a straight with no key-stoning. That function of the 14L continues to amaze me; how it can behave very much like a tilt shift lens when you keep it level and true to the subject. It's pure magic on so many different subjects!

Cheers!
